Don’t waste your vote

Zehra Zaidi, Thursday, June 4th, 2009 .

Today I have been getting out the vote in Gloucestershire.  One woman remarked to me that she wasn’t going to vote as it wouldn’t make any difference.   I will repeat what I told her: yes it will.  This country desperately needs change.

Locally, you want to vote for a Conservative Council that will keep council tax low and deliver value for money.

In the European Parliamentary elections, by voting Conservative, you can ensure that we keep up the pressure on Gordon Brown to hold the referendum we were promised on the renamed European Constitution.  The Conservative Party is the only party in Europe that can really stand up for British interests.  We will continue to defend the British Rebate and the opt-out from the Working Time Directive and be resolute on keeping keep the pound.

But perhaps most importantly, by voting Conservative today, our case for an immediate general election becomes even stronger.  Labour is imploding.  This country cannot afford a Government that is unable to govern, with chaos at the top with Cabinet resignation after resignation, talk about leadership coups and a complete policy vacuum.  It is time for change and change that only the Conservative Party can deliver.  Vote Conservative.

You saythat you will give us the “referendum we were promised on the renamed European Constitution.” Fantastic words but but what if the British people as the Irish have done so already and vote no? Will you try and rail road us into something the British people do not want for our so say benefit? The whole System of the EU is supposed to bebased demorcay. Gordon Brown has proved other wise through his totalitarian dictatorship towards the Bristish people which is clearly recipricated bu the EU as a whole throuth their rail roading of other countries. Does not boad well for the future. And as for the EU accounts which have not been audited and yet are being pressured to be signed off. MEP expenses….? Just another gravy train of fraud and deceipt and abuse of europes tax payers.
If conservatives truelly respect the the people they want to represent then you need to start with basics and publish from now on MEP expenses along with the UK.

And please don’t insult my intelligence with the usual political clap trap that MP’s respond with when questioned directly on issues of concern. I infact WE deserve and demand better and far higher standards now from MP’s in light of the expenses scandle.
